(Los Angeles) Aug. 18, 2022—Tea has always been a part of American political history. Noah Bleich, founder of the Los Angeles company The TeaBook, is launching My BodTEA, My Choice Tea Sampler on the 102nd anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment which gave women the right to choose their representation just as women should have the right to choose what to do with their bodies.
The MyBodTEA, My Choice Sampler Cube is a 20 limited wrapped tea bag curation featuring the images of The Dr. Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., Mexican artist Frida Kahlo and the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. For every MyBodTEA, My Choice sample cube bought, The TeaBook will donate $2 to Planned Parenthood.
Bleich, a conscientious entrepreneur who is keeping his pulse on current events, created this curated collection in response to the U.S. Supreme Court overturning its decision of Roe v. Wade which in 1973 established that the Constitution protected a woman’s right to an abortion.
“As Americans, we’ve heard the famous phrase that you can pursue your ‘life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness,’” he explained. “To me, this means you have that right to what happens to your body free from governmental intrusion.”
In addition, Bleich uses his tea sampler cubes to educate consumers while injecting humor into the conversation. For example, The Make TEA Not War Collection supports Ukrainians suffering Russia’s war in Ukraine. All profits the tea and ancillary items will fund organizations supplying food and first aid kits. The company’s best-selling sampler pays tribute Bleich’s mother, Linda D. Bleich by honoring women from different fields such as Florence Nightingale who is considered the founder of modern nursing; Marie Curie, a chemist who discovered radium and contributor to finding cancer treatments; Agatha Christie, a world-famous English mystery writer, and Amy Winehouse, an English award-winning soul singer.
“The reason we created this company was from my mother’s inspiration and persistence,” Noah Bleich said. “She always said, ‘Stick your neck out for what is right.’”
For him, drinking tea may not be the panacea to cure the world’s problems, but if his products like the MyBodTEA, My Choice sampler provoke conversations and inspiration, he has done his job.
“It would be nice if people can talk about political issues over a cup of tea because you get calmer when you drink tea versus drinking alcohol,” he said jokingly. “There are very few brawls in a teahouse, so conversation is important. Along with conversation, we add in humor as you can see from our collection names such as EqualiTEA and MighTEA Women of Herstory. Encouraging discussions in a friendly, disarming atmosphere lends to our mission which is simply: ‘Drink tea, have fun and do good.”
