It all started with two hives.
One of Rango Honey’s founder’s children is an amazing young man who happens to have autism. Having an autistic child, the family committed early on to a healthy-eating lifestyle. To support that lifestyle, they bought two hives to provide the cleanest, purest, highest quality honey possible for the family.
“We are honey aficionados and true believers in the virtually miraculous health benefits of pure, raw honey,” said Rango Honey President Jason Zimmerman, clarifying that much store-bought honey is not "real" honey, but corn syrup and other non-natural ingredients. “It’s clear we’re not alone. The response from our customers and honey connoisseurs like us to our products has been amazing.”
Rango Honey has grown to the point where it now harvests raw honey and bee pollen from more than 1,500 hives located throughout the Sonoran Desert.
“The Sonoran Desert is home to more than 2,000 native species of flora, making it one of the most biodiverse ecosystems on earth” explains Zimmerman. “The result is that the honey we produce is truly extraordinary and a honey aficionado’s dream.”
But Rango Honey has not lost sight of the reason it began. The company remains committed that all proceeds will go to fund safe and nurturing assisted-living housing for adults with autism. Currently, Rango Honey is funding two such homes in Arizona and hopes to expand as it grows.
