NEW YORK – (Oct. 20, 2015) Specialty Food Magazine is the winner of a 2015 Folio: Eddie and Ozzie Award for an article providing a detailed look into the GMO debate and its impact on the specialty food industry. The magazine, published by the Specialty Food Association, won for single article in the Association/Non-Profit (B-to-B) category.
The honor goes to the Association’s content development team, Denise Purcell, head of content; Eva Meszaros, former managing editor; Maria San Andres, art director; and Susan Segrest, contributing editor.
The article, “The GMO Debate: What Retailers and Suppliers Need to Know in 2014,” ran in the Summer 2014 issue of Specialty Food Magazine and on specialtyfood.com.
The awards were announced Oct. 19. Folio: is a media and event company serving magazine media professionals via its website, newsletters, Folio: magazine, awards programs, conferences, and networking events. The Eddie and Ozzie Awards competition is considered a top honor in the magazine industry.
This is the second award for the Association’s content development team this year. The team won a 2015 Jesse H. Neal Award for Best News Story for "The Plight of the Honeybee," which ran in the Fall 2014 issue of Specialty Food Magazine and on specialtyfood.com.
