Matiz Releases Newly Designed Tinned Seafood Line

Lynnwood, WA, April 12, 2021 – Matiz, the brand that brings you the very best foods from Spain, has released newly redesigned packaging for its best-selling line of tinned wild seafood, available through gourmet foods importer Culinary Collective.

Culinary Collective, owner of the Matiz brand, has been importing high quality wild seafood since 2015, and has grown the tinned seafood brand from just two varieties of sardines into a complete line of ten different varieties of the highest quality sardines, mackerel, tuna, octopus, and shellfish, including the 2020 sofi Silver award-winning Spicy Sardines with Piri Piri Chili Peppers.

This packaging refresh features streamlined visual design elements, including bolder pops of border color, and bright watercolor seafood illustrations. Kelly Burling, COO of Culinary Collective comments, “The inspiration for the new artwork was traditional Old-World seafood tins, which had striking color illustrations of fishermen and sea life. You could say this was a bit of a nod to tradition, while also keeping the look modern and fresh.”

Tinned seafood has recently grown in popularity, with restaurants and home chefs embracing the “tin-to-table” movement, by serving sardines, fish and shellfish right out of the tin with simple accompaniments. Burling also comments, “The new packaging is reflective of the high quality seafood that savvy consumers are now looking for.”

Matiz selects the highest quality sardines and mackerel, which are packed fresh, not frozen, by using traditional canning methods in Galicia, Spain, a region known for its exceptional seafood. The mild, clean flavor and tender texture of the plump fish is preserved through minimal processing and only cooked once at low temperature. Preserved in Spanish olive oil and salt, the resulting fish has a beautiful rich flavor and tender texture, perfect for tossing with pasta or simply eating right out of the tin.

Matiz Wild Seafood is available through Culinary Collective, with warehouses in Lynnwood, WA and Kearny, NJ, and distributors nationwide. For pricing and availability contact info@culinarycollective.com.
